Something Blue

Featured Item | by EventWorks

The tradition of ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ has been used for centuries by brides in hopes to bring good luck on their wedding day. Nowadays, it is a fun ritual many brides incorporate in various ways into their big day. Our favorite from the old adage is something blue, as EventWorks has many ways to utilize our rentals for a pop of ‘good fortune’ blue.

A pop of blue can be incorporated as a napkin or you can use a full linen in blue is one of your main colors within your wedding palette. With plenty of shades and textures to choose from, some of our popular blue linens include Polyester Slate, Matte Satin Light Blue and Majestic Navy.

Patterned china has become a popular wedding trend over the past few years. Brides and planners have started veering away from the traditional white and ivory banquet china and opting for something more fun! Last year, we added the Corsica and Amalfi lines to our ever-growing china collection. The Corsica line details an elegant darker blue and white pattern while the Amalfi line features a lighter blue with various other pastel shades and a gold trim. Another classic china staple is our Vintage Blue collection, which features a lighter blue base and floral design throughout the plates.

We are obsessed that colored glassware has made a comeback. We have recently added the Bella Blue goblet, as well as the Bohemian Blue glass to our Glassware options. Perfect for a specialty cocktail or for a pop of color within your tablescape, these glasses bring design and texture to your table.

We cannot wait to see more of your designs this year showing off our blue products! Below, find a few ways that our EventWorks brides have incorporated blue into their big day.

Trending: Rose Gold

Featured Item | by EventWorks

While silver has always been, and will always be, a classic wedding color, gold started trending again in recent years as we have observed through new china, flatware, linens and accent pieces. Now, rose gold has made its wedding debut and we are so excited to showcase several of our latest rose gold pieces we have added to over inventory over the last couple of seasons!

Here’s some inspiration of how to incorporate rose gold into your new event from some of Charleston’s best wedding event planners!

We love this modern and fresh design by A.Caldwell Events with our textured Krinkle Silver linen paired with our Driftwood charger, Magnolia china, and Rose Gold flatware.

A.Caldwell Events also paired our Rose Gold flatware with our Antique charger, which often reads ‘Rose Gold’ in photos.

YOJ Events paired our Rose Gold flatware with our Mosaico Gold chargers and Ruby linens – a perfect combination for Fall!

Pure Luxe Bride paired our Moscow Mule mugs with our Heirloom china and our Rose Gold flatware with our beautiful Bella Blue Goblets.

Our very own Marketing Manager, Ashley, paired our Amalfi china with the Rose Gold flatware for this crisp, winter wedding design.

We look forward to seeing more designs using our Rose Gold pieces this year! For more inspiration, follow us on Instagram and Facebook!

EventWorks Staff Spotlight: Meet Daniel

Featured Event | by EventWorks

EventWorks Staff Spotlight: Meet Daniel Geiger, Client Relations and Sales Manager

Location: Myrtle Beach

Daniel grew up in Florence, South Carolina, but has always loved spending time on the coast. His passion for fishing led him to make the move to Myrtle Beach a little over six years ago and he has never looked back! When he relocated to the Grand Strand area, he began his hospitality career working for a local catering company. This is where his passion for events was realized and he soon determined that the event industry was a perfect fit for his logistical knowledge and outgoing personality.

While Daniel still has a passion for food, he made the switch to the rental side of the industry in early 2018. He loves that Myrtle Beach is the ultimate vacation destination and the enjoys the wide variety of venues the area has to offer, making it a very special market to live, work and play.

His favorite Eventworks product is the Five Tap Craft Beer Bar. He loves how unique of a product it is. As Daniel says, “Is it really a party without a bar?”.

Want to get to know Daniel better? Below are a few of his favorite things.

He loves…

  • Fishing
  • Playing guitar and writing music
  • Spending time with his family and fiancé Margaret

Planning an event in Myrtle Beach? Daniel would love to hear from you! You can email him at mbinfo@eventworksrentals.com.

American Ninja Warrior: Kyle Johnson

Featured Event | by EventWorks

We are so excited for our very own EventWorks team member, Kyle Johnson, who is set to participate on the popular television show, American Ninja Warrior this spring. Kyle has been with EventWorks for nearly five years and is one of our most requested team leads by planners and clients. With his efficiency and positive attitude, he completes set-ups in record time … we hope to see him with the same speedy success on the show!

If you have not seen Kyle in the field on an EventWorks job, you may recognize him flipping over cars in George Sink commercials or maybe you have seen him and his crew, which are known as the Break Circuit, performing in downtown Charleston at Second Sunday or the Farmer’s Market.. He performs at festivals and private parties regularly, even giving private lessons to kids wanting to learn how to break-dance! Kyle said his favorite event to be a part of is Dance Marathon, an annual event that raises money for children at MUSC.

Kyle has been performing for most of life. Starting at age five, he first began flipping and tumbling for fun. By age 10, he was able to front flip over a trash can. At one point, he held the world record for flipping over the most people (at the time, it was 13!). Kyle is no stranger to the American Ninja Warrior show as he has been a participant before. He believes working at EventWorks has helped him stay in shape and really taught him patience, a key tool to being able to successfully complete challenges on the show’s course.

We are rooting for you Kyle and cannot wait to watch your episode premiere later this year! Stay tuned to find out when you can see your local EventWorks celebrity on the big screen.

Spreading the Lowcountry Spirit

Featured Event | by EventWorks

First quarter has officially flown by for the Savannah EventWorks team and what a rewarding time its been! We have had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful new clients and a handful of charitable partners including, March of Dimes, the Savannah Humane Society and the Sisters on a Journey Effingham, a signature event for Catie’s Fund to cure childhood cancer. This special group of events remind our team to:

  1. Have heart
  2. Take pride
  3. Give thanks.

In March, we set up quite the order for the Sisters on a Journey Effingham CURE Childhood Cancer event. We prepared an 80’x130’ tent with 100 tables and 1,000 chairs for their fundraising event at Honey Horn Plantation. They raised more than $136,000 to go towards research for pediatric cancer. To learn more about this organization, please visit their website and to view pictures from their event click here.

In February, Client Relations Manager, Megan Mahoney, worked with the St. Joseph’s/Candler Foundation on their 2018 Candler Clays event which is a charity clay shoot and auction raising money benefiting the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion. Candler Clays raised more than $176,000, a record amount for the charity.

Megan loves being involved with so many charity events. “It was truly inspiring to work with so many wonderful people who donated both their time and money to such an important cause that impacts so many families,” she says.

Then, earlier this spring, our Operations Manager, Brandon Cropley, had a record of his own! If you’ve previously worked with Brandon, you are familiar with his long locks of curly hair. Brandon grows his hair out specifically to donate to Wigs for Kids, an organization that custom makes hair replacement pieces for children undergoing cancer treatments. Next time you see Brandon, make sure to comment on his new ‘do! For more information on Wigs for Kids, please visit their website.
